Shaarei Tikvah will be participating in the World Wide Wrap in several ways. First the fifth and sixth graders in the Anna and Louis Shereff Religious School will have a program where they are introduced to the meaning and spirituality of wearing tefillin. Then on Sunday, February 3 at 9:00am, all are welcome and encouraged, men, women, and students to join Jews around the world to daven the morning service while wearing tefillin.
The Bnai mitzvah class of 2013 will receive a set of tefillin courtesy of the Rev. Solomon Kaplan Fund.
Rabbi Schweber and others will be on hand to teach the nuts and bolts of donning tefillin. The Brotherhood has tefillin sets for the participants to borrow. Tefillin can also be purchased through the Brotherhood or directly from the Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs’ website at fjmc.org.
The service will be followed by a festive brunch.
