Consistently a successful program with increased participation from Kedima/USY each year, and led by our rabbis, chazzan, and layleaders of our congregation with historical and textual backgrounds of tefillin, and discussion of the uniquely intimate, spiritual and very personal experience of wrapping. In 2015 we showed a video from Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz on the significance of tefillin, followed by in-person discussion with Mekor Chayim Steinsaltz Ambassadors.
World Wide Wrap 2016
Our club will begin Sunday morning with personal instruction of laying tefillin for the half hour prior to shacharit. Following services, we plan to host a breakfast and a guest speaker or two - ideally, we'd like to have some of the female rabbis in our congregation, as well as Sisterhood and USY/Kedima youth leadership generating an inspired discussion in celebration of FJMC's partnership with the Women of the Wall bat mitzvah program.
