2005 Keeper of the Flame

The Keeper of the Flame program started in 2001 by the New England Region to honor men from all of the FJMC affiliated Men’s Clubs/Brotherhoods within the region. The Men’s Club of Temple Ner Tamid took on the challenge to run the 3rd annual dinner on October 26, 2003.  We had the participation from 15 Temples, honoring 15 Men. The Keepers of the Flame are chosen by individual Men’s Clubs for their leadership and participation within their Men’s Club, Temple, Region and Community.

2005 Beth Shalom Men’s Club Health Fair

Four coordinators for the yearly Health Fair contact and bring together hospitals, physicians, insurance companies, medical organizations, pharmaceutical representatives, and other health care providers in the ballroom of the synagogue.   Flu shots, cholesterol and blood pressure tests, body fat analysis, other medical services, and wide-ranging health and wellness information are made available to the general public.

2005 Hogan School Dance

The annual Hogan School Dance is a social action program that most certainly has a significant positive impact on a too often overlooked sector of the local community.  When this program was started over thirty years ago, the Hogan School was an institution of learning for mentally-challenged adults, affiliated with the local Danvers State Mental Hospital.  Our club would host a dance each year for the Hogan School, providing them with well-needed entertainment and socialization.  A number of years ago, the state hospital closed, and the Hogan School was signifi
